Cops changing with time in Kolkata

Aware of the emotion of students after the JNU attack, the police brass at Lalbazar has asked the force to be patient, try to open up as many communication channels as possible and show restraint while dealing with young protesters. The advice came hours after education minister Partha Chatterjee posted on Facebook that he was expecting “more restraint” from cops in a reference to the alleged lathicharge near Sulekha crossing on Jadavpur University students on Monday evening.
