Internet ban in Kolkata for HS exams?

Senior Kolkata Police officers on Wednesday said they were awaiting an official notification on a possible internet ban in a few pockets of Kolkata — in south-west, central and north — during Higher Secondary examinations that begins on Thursday. HS Council, however, said a formal decision has been taken on banning internet in five sensitive districts. Sources said West Midnapore, Malda and Murshidabad, along with some pockets in Kolkata, were among the ‘identified’ districts. The move is aimed at curbing papers leaks that had dogged the West Bengal Higher Secondary Council (WBHSC) during last year’s examinations.
