Kolkata: 82-yr-old tests Covid +ve, found hanging

An 82-year-old former state government official, who had been under “mental trauma” over the coronavirus pandemic, was found hanging at his Barasat flat on Sunday morning, a day after he tested Covid positive. After recovering the body of Niranjan Chowdhury from the balcony of his first floor flat at Nabapally, police said they suspect that he had committed suicide by hanging himself from the balcony railing.
