WB: Mob enters Visva-Bharati,vandalize campus

A mob of around 1,000 people entered the Visva-Bharati campus on Monday, used a payloader to demolish a university gate and vandalised furniture and streetlights to protest against the authorities’ plans to construct a fence around the Pous Mela ground, prompting an “indefinite closure” of the institute established by Rabindranath Tagore in 1921.
